Your Itinerary for the Alameda County Fair

This Wednesday, June 15, 2016, is the opening day of the Alameda County Fair. Thrill rides, funnel cake, prizes, concerts, cotton candy, and much more are all things to enjoy at the fair. The year, it should be on the top of your ‘Summer To-Do’ list as it marks that summer has finally arrived. Some of the sponsors include Sleep Train, Budweiser, Big-O Tires, Kaiser Permanente, Coca Cola, Oracle Arena, and Groupon. Luckily, we’ve compiled a handy list for you of this year’s concert series line up, action sports events, shows, and attractions for everyone.


 
Live Music and Special Events
Big-O Tires Concert Series will feature performances from Grammy Award winning artists and local groups. It will launch on Wednesday, June 15 and end on July 4th with the Red, White, and Blues Festival. All Concerts start at 8pm and are FREE with Paid Admission! However, if you want to sit a little closer to the stage, Premium seating is available on their website. Below are a few of the many performers at this year’s fair.

Tony! Toni! Tone! (Oakland, CA)
Thursday, June 16
Are you a lover of American Soul and R&B? Well you’re not going to want to miss Tony!Toni! Tone!, a group from here in the Bay Area, specifically Oakland. A few of their most popular songs include “Little Water”, “Born Not Know”, “For The Love Of You,” and “Feels Good,” some of them have even made it the Top 10 R&B singles.

LeAnn Rimes (Jackson, MI)

Having sold more than 44 million albums, won two Grammy Awards, three Academy of Country Music Awards, and 12 Billboard Music Awards, Le Ann Rimes is definitely a trail blazer in the country-pop music scene. Lucky for you, here is your chance to see her perform this year.

Kool & The Gang (Jersey City, NJ)
Thursday, June 30
Having sold more than 70 million albums worldwide, Kool & the Gang is a jazz, R&B, soul, funk, and disco music group. With a large range of sounds, you’ll certainly have something to boogie to at this year’s performance.

3rd Annual New Fair Food Competition
Are you a foodie? You’re not going to want to miss the 3rd Annual Alameda County Fair Snackdown. This live judging event will be hosted KCBS’ Foodie Champ, Liam Mayclem. Join in on the fun on Saturday, June 18th at 4PM

Red White & Brew Fest
On Saturday, July 2nd, join in on the fun at the Red, White, & Brew Festival. With a general admission ticket you are granted access to unlimited craft beer samples, tasting glass, and exclusive infield access.

4th of July Fireworks Spectacular!
Firework show will start at 9:30 with fireworks set to be performed by the Oakland Symphony.

Tomas Garcilazo ‘El Charro’ presenting ‘Viva’

Tomas, a native of Mexico City, will be performing his highly developed horsemanship and roping abilities. Tomas is a third generation Charro who was introduced at an early age to the tradition “La Charreria.”

Shows & Attractions
Budweiser Clydesdales
Come admire the beauty of the Budweiser Clydesdale horses. The parades will run from June 16 to June 25, with Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday starting at 2:30 PM and Friday at 3:30 PM.

The Tangled Threads
The Tangled Threads are The Jarquin and Jen Forti, a multi-talented duo from Portland, Oregon. They have been delighting and amazing audiences all over the world for many years with their repertoire that includes stiltwalking, juggling, clowning, and much more!
