Remote Park Assist

If you’ve been frustrated when trying to park in tight spaces, the new Porsche Remote Park Assist is here to make your life a little bit easier. What is Park Assist? Available on the new Porsche Cayenne, this Active Park Assist feature can automatically park itself and works for parallel or perpendicular parking. You don’t even need to be inside the vehicle!

How Does Porsche Remote Parking Assist Work?

Simply drive up to the parking space, get out of your vehicle, and open up the Porsche app. Choose Remote Park Assist, and press “OK.” Hold the “OK” button until the vehicle is completely parked. You can also have the vehicle exit from the parking space, so you can get back in your car quickly without having to squeeze your body between parked cars; this is especially handy when someone is parked too close to you.

The Porsche Parking Assist feature uses four cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors, resulting in a 360-degree view of the vehicle’s surroundings. The cameras and sensors send information to the central driver assistance control unit, giving the vehicle the ability to park itself.

Is Porsche Remote Parking Assist Safe?

The Porsche Remote Parking Assist system emphasizes safety. The parking system will automatically adjust or stop parking if a pedestrian is detected or the system identifies a curb or another obstruction. Drivers also have the ability to stop the system themselves with the Porsche app.
