Over the past decade, a variety of legendary Porsche vehicles have been showcased at Detroit’s North American International Auto Show, including the Cayenne, 911 Carrera, and 911 Turbo. However, for 2017, Porsche is reportedly skipping the NAIAS. Instead of swinging by Washington Boulevard in Detroit, Porsche is taking its array of sports cars and SUVs to other locations on the East and West Coast. Learn more about Porsche’s decision and where to look for important updates below!

Why the Withdrawal?

For over a century, the Motor City’s North American International Auto Show has given automakers a platform to showcase restyled in-production vehicles and unveil all-new models. As an automaker with the better part of 100 years to its name, Porsche is turning its attentions to two of its strongest markets: New York City and Los Angeles. In addition to being strongholds, New York City and Los Angeles are more populous, and promise widened exposure for Porsche’s famous lineup via consumer-oriented auto shows, as opposed to ones engulfed by media.
